Speech and eternity

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Prayer
Lord I admit that I sin in speech and thoughts and I ask that Your righteousness prevails in me.

Lord, I am convinced that holy living has to do with holy thoughts to holy thoughts so that Your word can powerfully dwell in me.

Help me to use my body to honour You and not for sin.

Amen

Understand it is about eternity
We are preparing for eternity so we should live as people longing for their home in eternity.

Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Why is eternity a critical aspect in our speech?
Mark 13:9  “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.

When circumstances are not convenient and lives are at risk, will I remember my maker and acknowledge Him?
Under extreme circumstances will I have a clear conscience before God?

God reminds us to be on our guard. Investing in my speech knowing that God expects me to always be ready for His coming and not be caught up in the things of this world

Conclusion
Prov 18:20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
    with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.
