Dealing with Anger by addressing lack

Eph 4:26-31 26“In your anger do not sin”[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Do not sin, Do not give the devil a foot hold,Do not speak evil, Do not grieve the Holy Spirit, Rid yourself of bitterness, rage, anger, browling, slander, malice (Paraphrased)

vs 28 We must stop stealing, work with our own hands and distribute to the needy what we make.

Linking anger to lack
We are angered by lack, unfulfilled need

vs. 26 & 27 Are unrealistic
How can I be angry and not sin? and not give the devil a foothold? and not grieve the Spirit of God? and speak kindly?
Unless a very supreme mighty "Person" helps me.

James 4:1-2 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

There are desires that battle in me. These desires stir fights and quarrels among us
Eph 4:28 this lack causes us to steal.

God's recommendation on anger
  1. Eph 4:28 Work and earn the things you desire
  2. James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
  3. Eph 4:30 No grieving the Holy Spirit
  4. 1Tim 6:6 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
