This verse acts as a great reminder of the power of God's word.
Joshua 1:8 says that these words of God should not depart from our mouths.
God speaks His truths, and I speak His truths too.
I hear Him and speak what He says, I think of His words and act on them.
What is it about this word of God?
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
The word of God is living and active- It acts
It is sharper than a double edged sword-It is powerful and has a supernatural ability to pass through the impossible places.
How the word of God acts is beyond what our minds can comprehend.
We are 'one piece' but the word of God pierces through our souls and spirits, joints and marrow.
This word of God discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
God's word is an indescribably powerful and it judges my thoughts and behind my thoughts it sees the intentions that drive me.
When we meditate on God's word, He starts changing us as He mirrors Himself in us through His word.
We allow Him to search us as we meditate on His word. He then shows us truths in us and changes us to be like Him if we allow Him.
Joshua 1:8 reminds us to act on what God's word says and speak what it says. This is achieved by continuous studying and pondering over the word of God. Then as He shows us His truths and we speak it, we also go ahead to do what His will is.
God assures us prosperity if we do this.
Help me Lord to meditate and act on your word. Let it be the fullness in me that comes out of me.
