Jealousy

Gal 6:4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,
  1. Test your actions
  2. Take pride in yourself alone
  3. Don't compare to someone else
Gal 6:5 for each one should carry their own load.

It's very interesting to know that God expects us to test our own actions. Why I'm I doing the things I do? What is my inspiration? From that, I should take pride in the person God has created me to be which should not be compared to any other person.

Gal 6:4-5 NKJV 4. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load.
  1. Examine yourself
  2. Rejoice in yourself (Identity)
  3. Not in another's identity
We have very different loads, different works and different callings on our lives.
Knowing who has called me should help me take stock in light of His calling.
It is very easy to start comparing myself to others and admiring all the goodness of the Lord in them.

verse 4 Says that I should examine my actions. What is it in me that makes me admire other? Is it joy or jealousy?
James 4:33 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

We may find ourselves asking God for the things we have coveted in others. We ask with wrong motives.
James 3:14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

We are warned by God not to boast about bitter envy or selfish ambitions. And that we should also not deny the truth on this matter.
If in me I know that I am envious and selfish after examining my actions, I should acknowledge this sin before God, I should not deny the truth I have found out by pretending that jealousy is not driving me.

Ex 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
