Gen 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
Gen 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
God reviewed His work and was pleased with the outcome- we should always review what we have done and ensure the outcome is excellent.
Gen 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
God then blessed the 7th day and rested. This reminds us the importance of rest. Always do an excellent job and rest. Don't avoid excellence and don't avoid rest. Both are essential.
Prov 18:9 One who is slack in his work
is brother to one who destroys.
God considers slack work similar to destruction. It would have been better if we did nothing at all instead of doing a slack job.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
We have this life and God reminds us that what we need to work at in this life can not be done in the after life. He reminds us that we should do the things we do with our hands with all our might. Putting our all in the works.
Prov 14:23 All hard work brings a profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty.
God reminds us that there is gain in working hard. We profit from this.
Psalms 2:8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
