Patience is not sitting around and doing nothing
Hab 3:17-18 17.Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18.Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Though the fig tree buds not, There are no grapes, No olives, No food, No sheep, No cattle......
When things are not as I would like, What should I do?
verse 18) Yet (Still, Even, Up untill)
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my saviour.
Rejoicing and being joyful is a picture of patience.
Our response to a situation is our patience displayed.
v19)The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
Patience can be worked through:
- Adjusting my attitude to worship God: Be Joyful, rejoice
- Acknowledging the power of God and His ever present strength and His doing in our lives.
Gal 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Let us not be weary of doing good, In due time we shall reap a harvest.
While waiting continue doing good. This is not easy but don't stop.
God assures us we shall reap a harvest, we shall be rewarded.
Patience is work, Work is rewarded.
